PILOT/TRAFFIC ADVISORIES:

TWO DAYLIGHT RESTRICTED VESSELS STARTED OUTBOUND TRANSIT AT

0600/26TH.  AT THIS TIME, NO DAYLIGHT RESTRICTED VESSELS ARE

SCHEDULED FOR INBOUND TRANSIT THE 26TH.

 

MAY 3RD – 6TH THE PORT NECHES RIVERFEST WILL BE TAKING PLACE

NEAR PORT NECHES PARK.  THERE WILL BE CHANNEL CLOSURES DURING

THE WEEKEND FOR BOAT RACES.  THE CLOSURE TIMES WILL BE ADVISED

AS THE EVENT GETS CLOSER.  THE TERMINALS AFFECTED BY THIS WILL

BE OILTANKING PORT NECHES, CHEVRON, SUN, OILTANKING BEAUMONT,

MARTIN, EXXONMOBIL AND THE PORT OF BEAUMONT.

USCG – clarification re salvage and marine firefighting

The US Coast Guard issued a clarification regarding its salvage and marine

firefighting requirements for vessel response plans (VRPs) for oil. On

September 3, the agency announced that the Office of Management and Budget

(OMB) had approved the collection of information associated with those

requirements. The announcement also indicated that the requirement would be

enforced beginning September 3. The Coast Guard has now clarified that the

information collection will be enforced as of February 22, 2011, when the

salvage and marine firefighting regulations come into force. 75 Fed. Reg.

55973 (September 15, 2010).

WEATHER

We'll continue with another partly cloudy day with high temps back into the lower 80's. The lakes will be even warmer with highs back up into the middle 80's perhaps as high as 86.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

For tonight, a few extra low clouds with lows dropping back into the upper 60's.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

For the next several days, including the weekend we'll have highs back into the lower to middle 80's and lows in the upper 60's.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

Next week, low temps in the morning warm up into the low 70's with a nice humid tropical airmass. Highs will back into the low 80's.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

Rain chances remain nearly non-existent for most of the forecast period. With only just a slight chance of rain early next week at 20%.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">
