PILOT/TRAFFIC ADVISORIES:

ONE DAYLIGHT RESTRICTED VESSEL STARTED INBOUND TRANSIT AT

0500/18TH.  ONE DAYLIGHT RESTRICTED VESSEL IS SCHEDULED FOR

OUTBOUND TRANSIT AFTERNOON 18TH.

 

MAY 3RD – 6TH THE PORT NECHES RIVERFEST WILL BE TAKING PLACE

NEAR PORT NECHES PARK.  THERE WILL BE CHANNEL CLOSURES DURING

THE WEEKEND FOR BOAT RACES.  THE CLOSURE TIMES WILL BE ADVISED

AS THE EVENT GETS CLOSER.  THE TERMINALS AFFECTED BY THIS WILL

BE OILTANKING PORT NECHES, CHEVRON, SUN, OILTANKING BEAUMONT,

MARTIN, EXXONMOBIL AND THE PORT OF BEAUMONT.

USCG – clarification re salvage and marine firefighting

The US Coast Guard issued a clarification regarding its salvage and marine

firefighting requirements for vessel response plans (VRPs) for oil. On

September 3, the agency announced that the Office of Management and Budget

(OMB) had approved the collection of information associated with those

requirements. The announcement also indicated that the requirement would be

enforced beginning September 3. The Coast Guard has now clarified that the

information collection will be enforced as of February 22, 2011, when the

salvage and marine firefighting regulations come into force. 75 Fed. Reg.

55973 (September 15, 2010).

Friday, increasing cloudiness with a 40% coverage of rain and thunderstorms late. Lows in the lower to middle 60s with highs in the lower 80s.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

<span-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">Saturday, a strong, upper-level low pressure area will move across the area.  This will generate high rain chances with windy west-northwesterly winds possibly gusting to 30 mph.  The area could pick up one to two inches of more rain.  Lows will be in the middle to upper 50s and highs only in the lower to middle 60s.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

Sunday, decreasing cloudiness is expected.  Lows will be in the middle 50s with highs in the middle 70s.  Windy northwesterly winds will continue.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">

Monday and Tuesday look beautiful with sunny, warm days and chilly nights.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#5A5A5A">
