USCG – clarification re salvage and marine firefighting The US Coast Guard issued a clarification regarding its salvage and marine firefighting requirements for vessel response plans (VRPs) for oil. On September 3, the agency announced that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) had approved the collection of information associated with those requirements. The announcement also indicated that the requirement would be enforced beginning September 3. The Coast Guard has now clarified that the information collection will be enforced as of February 22, 2011, when the salvage and marine firefighting regulations come into force. 75 Fed. Reg. 55973 (September 15, 2010).

Forecast Discussion
A cool start again today with lows this morning in the upper 40s and lower 50s. This afternoon under sunny skies highs will reach into the 80s with an east wind at 5-10 mph and no chance for rain.
The air mass over Southeast Texas that has brought gorgeous weather over the weekend will gradually modify over the next few days. A warming and moistening trend is forecasted as the week progresses. Afternoon highs and morning lows will warm as humidity levels increase. Overall, the week looks dry with just isolated showers possible Friday and Saturday with very limited amounts.
The start of next week also does not look promising for any significant rain.
