Forecast Discussion
A beautiful weekend for fair goers with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temps into the upper 70's and low 80's. Things are a changing Monday as a strong cold front arrives by mid afternoon and evening. The front will be preceded by strong to even severe thunderstorms beginning as early as early afternoon (12p-1p) and lasting through the remainder of the afternoon and into early evening. The thunderstorms will contain heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and thunder, strong winds and may be some hail or even weak, short lived tornadoes.
Additionally, mariners will have a small craft advisory as well as a gale warning in effect. Winds will be over 15-25 knots. Seas will be 3-5 feet, then 4-6 feet creating rough water conditions.
Once the storms pass by evening, winds will switch from SE to NW at 10-20 mph and gusty.
A nice forecast after tomorrow, with clearing skies giving us lots of sunshine for Tuesday and beyond. We'll see morning lows near 47 Tuesday morning, and highs near 71. A quick warm up commences thereafter, with morning lows into the lower 70's and highs near the lower 80's by next weekend. Rain chances look non existent after tomorrow.
