USCG – clarification re salvage and marine firefighting
The US Coast Guard issued a clarification regarding its salvage and marine
firefighting requirements for vessel response plans (VRPs) for oil. On
September 3, the agency announced that the Office of Management and Budget
(OMB) had approved the collection of information associated with those
requirements. The announcement also indicated that the requirement would be
enforced beginning September 3. The Coast Guard has now clarified that the
information collection will be enforced as of February 22, 2011, when the
salvage and marine firefighting regulations come into force. 75 Fed. Reg.
55973 (September 15, 2010).

Forecast Discussion

As high pressure builds into the area, the coolest weather of the Fall
Season is expected Friday and Saturday Mornings with frost possible. By
Sunday, a ridge of high pressure will build over the area beginning a
warming trend. At the same time, cold high pressure will move away from
the are allowing winds to become southeasterly. Gulf of Mexico moisture
and cloudiness will be on the increase Tuesday and Wednesday with the
"Muggies" returning to the area. Slight rain chances return Tuesday and
Wednesday.

Thursday: Sunny, windy...no rainfall forecasted. Low near: 51 High near:
71 Winds: N-NW 15-25 mph with gusts to 30 mph possible.

Friday: Sunny, cooler...no rainfall forecasted. Low near: 41 High near:
67 Winds: N-NW 6-12 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, cool...no rainfall forecasted. Low near: 38 High near:
69 Winds: NE 3-8 mph

Sunday: Mostly sunny, warmer...no rainfall forecasted. Low near: 46 High
near: 71 Winds: E-SE 4-10 mph.

Monday: Partly cloudy, warmer, more humid...no rainfall forecasted. Low
near: 58 High near: 73 Winds: S-SE 5-10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, humid, 10% showers...1/4" rainfall forecasted.
